Venus Pancake House was established in 1977 by partners Steven Doulaveris and George Frangakis. For just over three decades, Venus has been serving quality food at reasonable prices. Thirty-two years ago, Venus started out as a small 24 hour diner only seating 80 people. Venus was one of the only restaurants you could find open late. Over the next couple of decades, the business grew and expanded for more seating capacity.
In 2000, Venus was taken over by Steven’s son, William Doulaveris, and Steven's son-in-law, Constantine Perivolaris. Shortly after, a catering service was established to better serve Florence and the surrounding areas. The catering service has grown, and is still growing. Venus currently caters breakfast and lunch to many medical offices in and around Florence every day. Other areas include, Darlington, Hartsville, Marion, Dillon, Camden, Bennetsville, Dillon --- just to name a few. Venus not only caters its famous breakfast and lunch food, but formal menu options for wedding receptions, engagement parties, holiday parties, etc. are also available. Venus is still serving customers any time of the day and night. In addition to the restaurant’s main menu of diner style breakfast and lunch foods, Venus also offers daily lunch specials on Monday through Friday from 11:00-2:30pm. Customers have the option to choose one meat plus two vegetables with sweet tea for a special lunch price. Please see our Menu section to see our weekly lunch specials.
